A question for all my blog friends

I’m hoping for (A). I KNOW it’ll be embarrassing – that’s the whole point!! But I’d really like to say I had the courage to do it. Especially ’cause my singing isn’t too far from William Hung standards šŸ™‚ And if people vote C – that’s totally okay.Ā  A year ago I would’ve voted C too because I’d be terrified of embarrassment. But I think it’s all about how you define “embarrassing”. For me, these days, it’s all about what I allow to embarrass me. It used to be anything at all and I’d worry constantly about what other people thought of me. Recently, I’ve learned that people will always think whatever they want about me, and I can’t do anything about it – so I’m not going to waste time being controlled by something I, personally, cannot control! All I can control is whether or not I let things bother me. And if people think it’s embarrassing – well, all that says is that they care more about what other people think of them than I do. šŸ™‚

  1. GO FOR IT i’m all for you overcoming your fears. you’ve done so well with everything else and it shows guts if you’re even thinking about doing this.

  2. I say… go for it! I’d love to watch it! (I bet you’ll sound amazing AND feel great about yourself afterwards for overcoming a fear. šŸ™‚

  3. Okay so first of all considering how amazing you seem to be at everything else I find it hard to believe that you wouldn’t be a good singer. Second of all I wanted to let you know that I like the new header and layout changes you made to the blog. Very nice! šŸ˜€

I say go for it- “there’s nothing to fear than fear itself”. And considering all the other stuff you’ve had to go thru, this will be just another conquer in your life I would think.

Let me know what you decide to do! šŸ˜€

    1. LOL I’m a terrible singer! I do love continually trying to push past my fears – that quote you mentioned is so very true. I think I might just do it…

  4. I say GO FOR IT! I am not a good painter and I post my ‘works of art’ on my blog all the time. I bet you are really good. I honestly can’t wait and I hope you decide to do it!

    1. I’m really not good lol I don’t want there to be any ideas that I might actually be good floating around, haha – I recorded it last night and there’s several parts I missed the notes completely and burst out laughing lol!! I’m going to go take a look at your paintings šŸ™‚

  5. Wow, go for it girl! I’m such an advocate for facing fears, no matter how silly they may seem. By facing our fears we shake ourselves up, out of those constrictive boxes many of us have built around our lives. Sing it loud babe, I’ll be here to listen, cheering you on!

  6. Most definitely, go for it! Even if you are terrible (which is doubtful!), at least you’ve accomplished something you’ve always wanted to do. And that’s way more important than anything!

  7. Awww thanks! Well I knew there would be some people who voted C – but then I think about it, and this time a year ago *I* probably would have voted C as well because I would’ve been TERRIFIED of the embarrassment! The whole point is seeing if I’m brave enough to post it without caring lol… and I think I am… maybe? Haha I guess I can always put it behind a password šŸ™‚

  8. If you want to sing, GO FOR IT!

I do have a question though: if you’re “not a good singer at ALL” (according to you; I don’t know for sure because I’ve never heard you sing!), what makes you want to do a singing vlog? Would it be goofy or serious? Guess I’m just confused as to why you’d want to do a singing vlog if you think you’re William Hung-esque. šŸ™‚

Either way, I say conquer your fears & do what you feel like doing, whatever that may be – just don’t tear yourself down while doing it! There’s nothing better than a girl with confidence!

    1. I’m not good by Glee standards lol. I used to be in a band and I was okay – my range is terrible though. But I LOVE to sing – whenever there’s nobody home, I crank it up and belt it out and it’s just to rejuvenating and energising, I LOVE it – I guess I’m trying to get past being afraid of singing at all in front of people. Another step on the way to my ongoing goal of breaking free from being afraid – hopefully if I tackle the little things one at a time, they’ll all add up and I’ll be able to live more comfortably and confidently šŸ™‚

  9. You know what? I’ll do it if you do it. I suppose that isn’t fair since I’m a musician and I tend to like the spotlight a little too much… but moral support is moral support!

  10. I’m so excited for you to do this! It sounds like fun and why not…life IS too short. Let’s chat more…perhaps a karoake Gleek warm up before your vlog? šŸ™‚
